Jonathan Beaumont Thomas is an artist, collaborative printer, and educator based in Baltimore, MD. He is the Chair of the Printmaking and General Fine Arts Departments at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where he also serves as Co-Director of Dolphin Press and Print at MICA. He received a BS in Biology from Wake Forest University and an MFA from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. Recent exhibits include solo shows at Brackett Creek Exhibitions in New York, the Horowitz Center in Columbia, MD, and the Pinkard Gallery in Baltimore, MD. Other recent group exhibits include David Krut Projects and Untitled Gallery in New York, the Zuckerman Museum of Art in Kennesaw, GA, and the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville, AR. Through a range of direct and indirect media and both narrative and abstract methodologies, Thomas makes pictures and objects that tell stories that explore human nature, the human condition, our relationships to one another, and the role images play in our lives.
